32. Miami Dolphins
- Groves, Quentin, DE Auburn
Workout warrior with great athletic ability. Similar to Chris Long in that he played DE in college, and teams are looking at both of them has hybrid DE/LB's. If Miami doesn't take C. Long in the 1st round look for Groves in round 2. Groves had surgery in March to repair an irregular heartbeat, it isn't supposed to affect his draft status. 6-3 259 4.57 |
33. St. Louis Rams
- Mayo, Jerod, ILB Tennessee
One of the quickest risers in the draft. I have St. Louis taking Dorsey in the 1st round, put Mayo behind him and how will you be able to run the ball on the Rams. Huge Rams Defense Draft this year. Current Rams starting MLB Will Witherspoon also has the ability to play the weakside. Linehan is an offensive coach but will go against the grain this year. 6-11/4 242 4.54

34. Atlanta Falcons
- Keller, Dustin, TE Purdue
Super combine numbers moved him ahead of Fred Davis. He will be more of pass catching TE than a dominate blocker at 6'2" 240 lbs.. The Falcons released Crumpler in the off season and have the need for a new starter, I think he can start for them immediately. 6-2 242 4.55 |
35. Kansas City Chiefs
- Cherilus, Gosder, OT Boston College
After Round 1 where Jake Long will be picked ahead of them, they will address a glaring need in early round 2.Does not have the athletic ability of earlier picked tackles (except for maybe Otah). This will put him late 1st early 2nd. He may be able to play guard as well. Another wide body to block for Brodie Croyle looks good at this pick. 6-63/8 314 5.21 |
36. New York Jets
- Jones, Felix, RB Arkansas
|
| If the cowboys pass on Jones in round 1, this would be a slam dunk pick for NYJ. Thomas Jones was underwhelming in first year with the team and Leon Washington is a change of pace guy. The only question with this guy is how good is he really. Teams had to feel they could take a breather when McFadden went out of the game. 5-101/8 207 4.47 |

37. Atlanta Falcons
- Cason, Antoine, CB Arizona
He doesn't have spectacular measureables, but according to quoted scouts, he grades out very high on film. I saw an interview with him and he was as well-spoken and intelligent as anyone they talked to. High character guy. Falcons most recognizable cornerback is Chris Houston, they have youth but not a lot of talent at CB. Mike Smith is a former defensive coordinator, I expect their draft to lean that way. 6-01/4 191 4.52 |
38. Baltimore Ravens
- Kelly, Malcolm, WR Oklahoma
Kelly has dropped due to his lack of speed. Ran 4.7's on field turf and ran 4.6's on astroturf. Whined about the way Oklahoma treated him on his workout day. Running style similar to Plaxico Burress, with outstanding size. Knee surgery in high school, college and a quad tear in the offseason. Ravens starter Derrick Mason is 34 years old and they haven't been able to develop anyone else as a #2 receiver. 6-33/4 224 4.68 |
39. San Francisco 49ers
- Jackson, Lawrence, DE USC
A little bit of an enigma in college, super talent, but not always dominant. Helped by playing on DL with Sedrick Ellis. The 49ers will bring a California guy and bring out the best in him. Bookend DE with Justin Smith who signed as a free agent from the Bengals. 6-41/4 271 4.76 |
40. New Orleans Saints
- Collins, Anthony, OT Kansas
Collins at 6'5" and 310 has ideal tackle size with a nasty streak. They cant pass up a tackle at this spot, the guys on the roster now aren't getting it done. Does not have the athletic ability of earlier picked tackles (except for maybe Otah). This will put him late 1st early 2nd. He may be able to play guard as well. Another wide body to block for Drew Brees looks good at this pick. 6-63/8 314 5.21 |
41. Buffalo Bills
- Caldwell, Andre, WR Florida
Bills prefer to select a tall receiver to go opposite Lee Evans. Roscoe Parrish is too small to be an effective every down receiver. However after picking a CB in Round 1, the premier tall WR's will be gone. Caldwell is the best left and at 6 foot he isn't small but not the 6'3" guy they were after. He was very good in the Senior bowl, showed versatility running a reverse in for the winning touchdown, and has very good speed. I think he would be rated higher if not for Florida Gator WR's reputations as not making good pros. 6-01/4 204 4.37 |
42. Denver Broncos
- Laws, Trevor, DT Notre Dame
Laws doesn't have the prototypical height for the position, but he is a 100% motor guy. He had a great combine to move and teams took notice. The Broncos DL last year was the weakest they had in a long time, especially at defensive tackle. 6-03/4 304 5.06 |
43. Carolina Panthers
- King, Justin, CB Penn State
King came into college as a premier player and earlier in his career, but his play tailed off a bit at Penn State. However he ran a sub 4.4 at the combine and looked very good in all the drills. How will an NFL team motivate him??? You can never have enough CB's and John Fox is a "D" guy. 5-107/8 192 4.31 |
44. Chicago Bears
- Bennett, Earl, WR Vanderbilt
Excellent wideout with very good size and nice speed. He is a under the radar a bit as Vanderbilt wasn't exactly on ABC every week. With the Bears losing Berrian and cutting Mohammed they were replaced by stopgap guys, WR is a big need and Bennett is good value here. Vanderbilt's QB play was so ragged that Jay Cutler flew in from Denver to throw to him on his pro day. 5-111/2 209 4.48 |
45. Detroit Lions
- Stewart, Jonathan, RB Oregon
Rated much higher until turf toe surgery. Big power back in the mold of Marshawn Lynch. He will sit until at least August and a team may have to almost redshirt him for a year. The Lions cut former #1 Kevin Jones and Stewart would be great value here if they are willing to wait for the injury to completely heal. 5-101/4 235 4.48 |
46. Cincinnati Bengals
- Lofton, Curtis, ILB Oklahoma
Run stuffing Lb who had a very good combine. If you saw the Bengals play last year, them picking an offensive player anywhere in the early rounds would make you scratch your head. They need huge improvement in both run and pass defense and Lofton will greatly improve the run part. He should start right away there. 6-0 246 4.78 |
47. Minnesota Vikings
- Henne, Chad, QB Michigan
Henne at 6'2" is a couple of inches short of the the prototypical quarterback, but is a very smart and accurate passer. Who knows if Tarvaris Jackson is going to make it? Behind Jackson is Brooks Bollinger. This pick makes a lot of sense here He could eventually be their starter. 6'2" 230 4.96 |
