2009 NFL Mock Draft

33. Detroit Lions - Britton, Eben, OT Arizona
Hobbs has shown he can be a dynamic player, and the Lions recently added veteran Julian Peterson. Getting a talented Middle linebacker can solidify that linebacking corps, and Laurinaitis is just that guy. He has been productive throughout college and has a great nose for the ball.
34. New England Patriots - Barwin, Connor, DE Cincinnati
Barwin really dazzled teams in workouts, showcasing 4.5 speed. He seems like a nice fit as a rush linebacker. With the patriots linebackers getting up there in years, adding a youthful and talented linebacker will go a long way in helping out the pats defense.
35. St. Louis Rams - Laurinaitis, James, ILB Ohio State
Freeman falls because of the Byron Leftwich signing by Tampa. If he is available in round 2 for the Rams, St Louis will take him with their pick and start grooming Marc Bulger's successor.
36. Cleveland Browns - Johnson, Michael, DE Georgia Tech
Michael Johnson was very impressive in his workouts. He is tall and speedy and will give the Browns the edge rusher they have lacked for a long time.
37. Seattle Seahawks - Smith, Sean, CB Utah
DJ Moore isn't the biggest corner, but he has superior ball skills that will enable him to be a playmaker on the outside. The Seahawks are in dire need of a corner to go opposite Marcus Trufant.
38. Cincinnati Bengals - Mack, Alex, C California
The Bengals have a hole at center. Alex Mack probably has 1st round talent, but will fall to the 2nd round because of team needs not aligning with the position he plays. The Bengals make another move here to protect Carson Palmer.
39. Jacksonville Jaguars - Moore, D.J., CB Vanderbilt
Reports about Harvin's "me first" attitude and shortcomings in his rout running ability have scared teams away. It may take him a while to make the transition to receiver, but no one can deny that he is a dynamic playmaker, and that is what the Jags have lacked in the passing game. Harvin provides them a legit playmaker to complement MJD.
40. Oakland Raiders - Delmas, Louis, S Western Michigan
Michael Huff seems like a bust, and Gibril Wilson has been released. Delmas is selected to save the safety spot in Oakland.
41. Green Bay Packers - Beatty, William, OT Connecticut
Beatty was projected in the late first round earlier in the year, so selecting them here gives the aging green bay packers o-line great value and depth.
42. Buffalo Bills - Loadholt, Phil, OT Oklahoma
The bills need a TE to stretch the field, and Jared Cook has the athletic ability to be just that. The more weapons Trent Edwards has, the easier his life will be.
43. San Francisco 49ers - Sintim, Clint, OLB Virginia
Nate Clements is their only legit corner, so adding a guy like Alphonso Smith will go a long way in improving their secondary.
44. Miami Dolphins - Robiskie, Brian, WR Ohio State
Robiskie is a big skilled wide out with great discipline and rout running skills. Miami has too many speed receivers and really needs a wide out who can be a consistent pass catcher.
45. New York Giants - McCoy, LeSean, RB Pittsburgh
Derrick Ward is in Tampa now and the Giants offense seems to work best when they can give three different looks at RB. Lesean McCoy has the home-run ability teams look for in a change of pace back. He will complement Brandon Jacobs extremely well.
46. Houston Texans - Hood, Evander, DT Missouri
Amobi Okoye needs a partner to team up with on the interior. Ziggy Hood is an all around solid DT. He and Okoye applying pressure up the middle will free up Mario Williams off the edge.
47. New England Patriots - Cook, Jared, TE South Carolina
Rodney Harrison is on his last leg, and William Moore is a real talent at SS who's stock fell because of a foot injury during the college football season.
48. Denver Broncos - Brace, Ron, DT Boston College
The 3-4 defense needs a big NT and Ron Brace is HUGE. Brace at nose tackle brings the Bronco closer to having a solid defense.
Picks 1-16 | 17-32 | 33-48 | 49-64
