2009 NFL Mock Draft

33. St. Louis Rams -
Highsmith is considered one of the best athletes at his position. The Falcons are in need on a sideline to sideline defender and Highsmith provides that versitality. He may be a bit undersized for his position, but his speed and ability to fly to the ball carrier should make up for his weight. He will instantly contribute on 3rd downs and has the ability to be a full fledged starter in the league eventually.
34. Tennessee Titans -
When coming out of high school, Davis was a top 5 receiver prospect. That alone should say enough about his receiving skills from the tight end position. He is a player in the mold of a Tony Gonzalez who can stretch the field and help out in the running game. His blocking is the reason he is not a full fledged first rounder but is certainly not going to stop him from becoming a very good player at his position down the line.
35. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -
Orlando Pace isn't getting any younger and Williams is a good left tackle prospect who has also played guard in his college career. Williams is a better pass protector than run blocker so he will fit in at Marc Bulger's blindside and won't miss too much of a beat once he takes over for Pace.
36. Cleveland Browns -
Brennan has put up some of the most astounding quarterback numbers in NCAA history, and seperates himself from most spread quarterbacks because of his tremendous accuracy and recognition of different defenses. He may have a tough time transitioning to a pro style offense, but he has the arm and the intangibles to be an effective NFL quarterback.
37. New England Patriots -
Tony Gonzalez will go down in Chiefs history as potentially the franchise's greatest player. Despite his 1,000 yard season, the Chiefs could be wise to pick his eventual replacement. Coffman has impressive size, deceptive speed, and is a good blocker. His impact at Missouri this year was one of the main reasons for the school's surprising upstart this year, and he could come into Kansas City and become a productive threat if they can incorporate his ability to split out wide.
38. Detroit Lions -
The Raiders are in need of a wide receiver who can provide a consistent threat to opposing defenses. Also, the same kind of wide out is needed who can help Jamarcus Russel by giving him a go to threat. Bowman has been a big play performer for Oklahoma State as long as he's been there, and he has the speed and good hands to continue that in the pros.
39. Oakland Raiders -
A strong nose tackle is essential in a 3-4 defense, and Bryant possesses the size and strength to perform well in that kind of role. Bryant will mainly have the role of replacing future hall of famer Bryant Young, who has anchored the team's defense for years.
40. Miami Dolphins -
The impact of the loss of Al Wilson was more then most people expected. The Broncos lacked the big play ability at the outside linebacker spot when DJ Williams had to move to MLB. Bell is a true football player who can not only provide the big hit, but can make plays in coverage and get sideline to sideline to chase down ball carriers.
41. Seattle Seahawks -
Jake Delhomme has become a liability at the quarterback position because he is loosing the ability to give the playmakers in the offense such as wr Steve Smith the ball as often as need be. Ainge is a smart qb with a good arm and became a leader at Tennessee this past year. He lacks mobility but has decent pocket awareness to account for it.
42. Miami Dolphins -
The Bears choose Richardson, a quick left tackle who will protect the blindside of future franchise qb Brian Brohm.
43. Carolina Panthers -
44. Buffalo Bills -
45. New England Patriots -
46. Baltimore Ravens -
47. San Francisco 49ers -
48. Chicago Bears -
Picks 1-16 | 17-32 | 33-48 | 49-64
